Description

Role Objective The Senior Accountant will serve as the standalone financial engine for a high-volume trading operation, taking full ownership of the end-to-end accounting cycle. This role demands a hands-on financial professional capable of managing dense transactional throughput across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and the General Ledger (GL), while simultaneously producing accurate, executive-grade financial statements, Balance Sheets, and MIS reports to guide management decision-making. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & MIS Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheets. Design and generate detailed Management Information System (MIS) reports, offering insights into trade margins, operational expenditures, and revenue trends. Develop and maintain daily/weekly cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for high-volume trading activities. Perform variance analysis against budgets, providing commentary on discrepancies to senior management. General Ledger (GL) & Month-End Close Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP). Execute rigorous month-end and year-end closing procedures within strict deadlines. Conduct complex monthly bank reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations. Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Process a high volume of vendor invoices, verifying documentation, purchase orders, and approvals prior to payment processing. Manage supplier relationships, reconcile vendor statements, and execute weekly/monthly payment runs to optimize cash retention. Oversee the complete AR lifecycle, including raising high-volume commercial invoices, tracking incoming payments, and enforcing rigorous credit control and collection protocols. Resolve any billing discrepancies or trade-related disputes promptly to prevent cash flow bottlenecks. Compliance, Taxation & Audit Prepare and file regional tax returns (e.g., VAT, Corporate Tax) accurately and on time, ensuring full multi-jurisdictional compliance where applicable. Implement and enforce internal financial controls, standardizing operating procedures to mitigate financial risk. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing all required schedules and documentation for annual audits.
